The external business coordinator fosters the connections between the association and the outside. They are the one handling sociopolitical matters with their volunteers, taking part in the Québec Student Union (UEQ) boards and maintaining relations between the AÉCSP and other university student associations.
The roles are:
UEQ Director
The external business coordinator is a member of the Board of Directors of UEQand attends many boards from the union. To that end, they vote on notices, policies, arrangements and monitor the UEQ budget. On these boards, the external business coordinator meets various actors and learns more about varied challenges.
Bond with other associations
To gather more momentum on specific issues as well as to exchange on our common challenges, the AÉCSP is connected with many other student associations across Québec. The external business coordinator is the curator of this link and may take part in common projects such as student demand platforms for local, provincial or federal elections.
Sociopolitical matters
The external business coordinator is the person in charge of sociopolitical matters in the association. These are very diverse and may impact subjects such as tuition fees, student housing, sustainable development or the integration of the international student community.
Representation and decision making
The external business coordinator sits on the Coordination Committee and takes part in the decisions of the association. Their connection with the many parties of the Quebec student initiative enables them to bring an external vision on some internal challenges.
