Occupational accident insurance

The SSQ occupational accident insurance is valid for all undergraduate and graduate students at Polytechnique Montréal.

This insurance is free of charge for the student who is automatically covered when enrolled at the university once their tuition fees are completely paid.

If you are victim of an accident during your study hours or during any activity linked with your study projects and must receive medical assistance, you are eligible for reimbursment of medical fees and invalidity compensations. All details may be found on the SSQ website.

What to do in the event of an accident?
After your accident, make sure you reach out quickly to SSQ insurance customer service to know the conditions applying to your cover.

Here are a few important elements to keep in mind:
- Print and fill out the appropriate claim form:
  - Claim form: accident
  - Claim form: Accidental death or injury
- Retrieve (if required) the accident report from Secteur santé et sécurité at Polytechnique and ensure it has the right signatures,
- Send the required documents straight to SSQ Insurance (the forms, accident report, healthcare invoices, etc…).
