“Having spent more than six years at Polytechnique Montreal, between the bachelor’s degree and the master’s research degree in biomedical engineering, I am today full of enthusiasm to be part of the body that
represents me as a graduate student at Polytechnique Montreal. It is a way for me to give back to Polytechnique and its community. I am therefore contacting you to express my great interest in serving on the board of directors of the CPSU.
My multidisciplinary background in medicine and engineering has taught me to rise to challenges and to set a course for new horizons. Such an experience will be a first for me and I intend to get involved in the AÉCSP to contribute and be in the action. Indeed, I am interested in many student life issues, which is why I decided to run for the position of administrator in order to have a global view on the functioning of the Association and its environment.
During my years at Polytechnique, I held several positions and fulfilled several functions. On the academic side, I was a tutor, a mentor, a repetiteur, a tutor and a lecturer. This proximity with the students allowed me to realize the incredible diversity that characterizes our institution, and at the same time, the strong feeling of belonging that binds us all
that I was most proud of when I was an ambassador for my program. This sense of closeness goes beyond curriculum and credits. In 2017, I co-founded Astropoly, the Astronomy club at Polytechnique Montreal. This allowed me to not only share my passion for astronomy and astrophysics, but also to learn a lot through the encounters I was able to have
during this experience. My time at Poly-World was very enriching from a professional point of view and opened the door to a collaboration on a project to write a comparative report between Quebec, Iceland and Norway. Also, my passion for research and innovation motivates me every day to give the best of myself and to contribute to this beautiful ecosystem that we have in Montreal.
I am fully aware of the challenges facing the graduate student community today, especially after three years of the pandemic. Thus, driven by a deep knowledge of our values and aspirations, our environment and our administrations, I feel ready to take on the position of director within the CSPSA aΞn order to represent the members of the Association and defend their interests. With only a few months to go before the 150th anniversary of Polytechnique Montréal, we have an obligation to think big and give our community the chance to express its talents, in a spirit of openness, recognition and respect.
Best regards,
Mohamed El Amine Elforaici”
