“Dear students,
My name is Camille Pillot. Pillot. I have been a PhD student in biomedical engineering since January 2023,
graduate of the professional master’s degree in biomedical engineering in 2022, and I am now running
for the position of president of AÉCSP.
My involvement in the association began 2 years ago in April 2021 when I joined the events
committee as a volunteer. I then participated in the rebirth of the pole after the pandemic. At the
same time, I applied for the position of director of AÉCSP for which I was elected in May 2021. I am
now, since one year and a half – January 2022 – secretary general of AÉCSP. These different
functions have given me a global knowledge of the association and its issues but also
also a more general knowledge of associations in Quebec and procedures.
During these two years, I was able to contribute to different projects for the improvement of
graduate student life and to put in place new practices within the AÉCSP in order to ensure
its proper functioning, which is essential for the realization of the association’s activities.
First of all, the recognition of student involvement being fundamental for me, I have put in place
place small actions throughout the year to thank those involved and organized the first
first ceremony to reward those involved in the AÉCSP. I would like to continue my efforts to
recognize graduate student involvement within the AÉCSP and also with
Polytechnique if you elect me.
I have also been working for more than a year onimproving the practicesin order to ensure its
sustainability and proper functioning in order to continue offering services to the community,
community, reduce isolation by organizing diversified activities and especially to be able to defend your rights
adequately. I have thus written the first Position Paper of the AÉCSP which gathers all the
positions taken by the association over the last 10 years and informs of the values of the association. This
document will be a great help for future decision making and to defend your rights. I am
also working on reorganizing the structure of the association si to that there are more positions
and therefore more people to contribute to the development of graduate student life
at Polytechnique. I would like to pursue these commitments during the next mandate.
In addition to these accomplishments, I have been able to work on and become aware of various issues faced by
the graduate student community at Polytechnique, such as the financing of studies,
the accessibility of various services at Polytechnique and student group insurance.
If I am elected president, I will be able to continue the work of the association on these issues and
defend you with Polytechnique but also external actors such as the government
via the Quebec Student Union.
Finally, I believe that I have certain qualities required for the position of president such as
organization, rigor, flexibility in case of unforeseen events and a good work
capacity. capacity. I also believe that I am a good listener to the people I work with and
that I have a good analytical and synthetic mind useful to defend the positions of the association by
integrating the stakes of different actors.
I thank you for your interest in my application. I remain at your disposal for any questions.”
