“Dear Sir or Madam,
I am Valentin Dijon, Master’s student in Applied Mathematics at
Polytechnique Montréal and I am running for office for the position of Internal Affairs Coordinator
of the Polytechnique Graduate Student Association (A.É.C.S.P).
As early as my first week at Poly, I have been strongly motivated to continue
the student involvement I was able to achieve during my schooling in France (in charge of theatre clubs
, co-organizer of shows, concerts and conventions of national scope), I got
involved in the event committee starting Fall 2022 as a volunteer to
then become a permanent member. In this committee, I was able to help in the realization of the various
events throughout the year until today and help as well for the design of posters
and event sheets not forgetting assistance to the staff. I’ve had the opportunity to
organize the AECSP Great Challenge during the Graduate Student Week in February where I
handled challenge design and communication with the participants up to
the announcement of the results. Therefore, the Internal Affairs Coordinator would be a continuation of my will to
organize events for the Polytechnique student community.
I’ve also joined the AECSP Board of Directors last November, which helped me put forward decisions favoring event organization
with fellow Directors
in the course of debates that sparked my continued interest. Taking part as a Director also
led me to joint Specific Working Groups (SWG) including the SWG on the compensation policy for officers.
and the Bylaw revision committee which let me
learn a lot about the official documents of the association and
enabled me to make more enlightened decisions on official assemblies. Thus, I think
I can bring my vision to the future coordination committee of AECSP to make the best
possible decisions for the association.
Finally on a personal level I am a person who loves to work in a team and have
enthusiastic discussions on any topic. I’d like to bring my positive thinking in all the
relationships I undertake and I want to share this with the whole
team Also, I intend to invest my skills to reinforce the cohesion and a positive state of mind
within the future through team-building activities (or discussions) to
let the whole CoCo work the best they can.
