Layal Chaikho
“I’m Layal Chaikho, a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering (Biomechanics and Rehabilitation Engineering) in the LiBRTe laboratory.
My decision to run for the position of director within the AÉCSP was governed by my firm vocation to get positively involved in student life, always in favour of a student environment that is viable, stimulating, healthy and conducive to learning. This is a triangular stone in the path of student motivation that definitely deserves to be beaten! I aspire to empathize with graduate students and position myself to act in their most common interests. For example, mental health among doctoral students in particular is an important concern in my view. I’d also like to ask about the quality of studies at the professional master’s level, given the personalized configuration of the courses. I would also like to emphasize that the importance of women in engineering is a concern that is incredibly close to my heart!
On a personal level, I want, through my experience in the AÉCSP, to nourish and maintain my personal, relational and communication skills. Getting involved in the AÉCSP would have an impact on me personally thanks to wonderful meetings with people from graduate degrees, allowing me to interact harmoniously and warmly with them.”
