“My name is Josua, I am 22 years old and I am starting a Double Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Polytechnique Montreal. I come from France, from the Ecole des Ponts, near Paris.
I have already done two years of engineering school and I will start my research master’s degree after this integration term. I will be supervised by professor Frédérick Gosselin. In my school in France I was already studying mechanical engineering. I was also involved in the community life as vice-president of the photo club, member of the Fanfare, of the Comédie Musicale… Outside of school I like music (I managed to bring my guitar to Montreal) and sports (especially running, cycling…).
For me, it is an incredible opportunity to come to Quebec, I have never gone to study so far from home (except for one week in Warsaw, which is very little). If I want to apply to be an administrator, it is above all because I want to get involved in the life of the school and to be able to participate in its smooth running. The activity of administrator seems to require a workload that fits well with my studies at Poly.
Plus it’s a new experience for me. I have never really been involved in such a formal position in a school. That’s why I’m very motivated to train and do this activity. I hope to discover the functioning of a Board of Directors. As a newcomer, it will also be an opportunity to better integrate into Polytechnique Montreal. I have also met several members of the AECSP who have made me want to participate in the association. I will always be available to learn new things, read the necessary documents and prepare the boards.
For all these reasons I hope to become a type A administrator. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any question.”
